Man drowns after jumping off Pismo Beach pier February 16, 2021 By JOSH FRIEDMAN A person found a man’s dead body washed ashore at Pismo Beach early Monday morning. Shortly after 2 a.m., a 911 caller reported finding a body on the beach near Ocean View Avenue. Pismo Beach police say the death appears to have been an accidental drowning. Cal Fire spokesman Adan Orozco said it initially appeared the man was fishing off the Pismo Beach Pier. He lost something in the ocean, then dove in to retrieve it and did not survive the swim. The man may have been in the water for a few hours before his body washed up on the shore, Orozco said. ....

If he thought that no one would discover the scheme, he may have gotten a little too comfortable. Last Wednesday, Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat sent Commissioner of Police Chester Williams a formal complaint in which an investigation into the misappropriation of funds was being requested. Firefighters rescue two young surfers from under the Pismo Beach pier January 11, 2021 Emergency crews rescued two surfers who were trapped under the Pismo Beach Pier in dangerous surf conditions Sunday afternoon. At approximately, 1:18 p.m., witnesses reported a person under the pier was in need of help, according to Cal Fire. The surfer was holding onto one of the pillars under the pier. Another suffer paddled over to help him, bust lost his board and was also forced to grab onto a pillar under the pier. [Tribune] One of the surfers was 15 years old. The other was 11. Cal Fire rescue swimmers arrived at the scene and swam out to assist both of the boys. Both surfers safely returned to shore by 1:30 p.m. ....
