A former cult leader has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in the deaths of two children in the 1980s, including a toddler who she allegedly locked in a closet.
Anna Elizabeth Young, 79, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Emon Moss Harper. Emon was between ages 2 and 3 when his mother gave him to the House of Prayer for All People cult in Micanopy, Florida. He died around 1988 after he was locked in a closet and deprived of food and water. ....

Florida cult leader 'Mother Anna' sentenced to 30 years over deaths of two toddlers

Anna Elizabeth Young, 79, was sentenced to 15 years and 30 years, to be served concurrently
Young pleaded no contest to second-degree murder for 1988 death of Emon Harper, and to manslaughter for 1983 death of Kaytona Jackson
Prosecutors said Young starved two-year-old Emon and deprived him of water until he died, then allegedly burned his body
Kaytona Jackson was three years old when she died in Young s care after being denied her epilepsy medication
Young was leader of House of Prayer for All cult, which she ran in rural Florida between mid-1980s and early 90s
Her own daughter turned Young in to the police in connection with Emon s killing in 2016 ....
