PREP ROUNDUP: Cougars win Alexandria Holiday Invite Staff Report ALEXANDRIA The Greenfield-Central boys basketball team won two straight to seize the Alexandria Holiday Invitational championship on Wednesday. The Class 4A Cougars opened the holiday tournament with a 60-53 victory over 2A Sheridan in the morning session before knocking off the host 2A Tigers, 59-37, in the championship game. Greenfield-Central stormed out to a 20-6 lead during the title game and built a 29-20 advantage by halftime before outscoring the Tigers 30-17 in the second half. Heather Kerner s pizza dough company, the Good Crust, doesn t produce a tech product, but she enrolled in Propeller earlier this year anyway. The six-week course is designed to guide women as they build their tech or tech-enabled business, and she figured gaining those skills was an important part of getting her Maine-sourced pizza dough out to the market. Now, two months into running her Skowhegan-based business, she s secured several wholesale accounts and is poised to consider a distribution partnership. Kerner s startup is one of six generated from the program, which was launched in March by the CEI Women s Business Center. Two sessions were held this year, in March and again in July. A new round begins in January, with two sections behind held simultaneously, one on Tuesdays and one on Wednesdays. The course if free and conducted completely online. ....

Fueled by an 18-point second quarter and the hustle play of senior Addi Jones, the Dragons manufactured a 15-2 run to break an early six-all tie and defeated Hoosier Heritage Conference foe Greenfield-Central, 47-28, on Thursday night. Jones finished with a double-double behind 10 points and 10 rebounds, and junior Rachel Kelley had a team-high 11 points off the bench to lock down the Dragons’ fifth straight win and fourth consecutive against an HHC opponent. ....
The Sideline – December 10 Dragons girls hoops wins fourth straight The New Palestine girls basketball team won its fourth straight game Tuesday, holding off host Shelbyville 48-41. The victory gives the Dragons a 6-2 record on the season and a 3-0 mark in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. The Dragons had four double-figure scorers in the victory, led by Isabella Gizzi’s 13 points. Addi Jones added 12 points, Grace Marshall 11 and Anna Ackerman 10. It marked the second time in three games the Dragons had four double-figure scorers.
