L-R Women's Triathlon Competes in First Ever Event

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Triathlon Team opened the inaugural season of competition at the Ice Breaker Duathlon against 5-time defending National Champion Queens University. The Royals used an aggressive start on the first 2.5km run to force the host Bears to chase throughout the challenging 20km bike course.
LR freshmen Emily Hayes (Scottsdale, AZ) and Andie Kuipers (Harare, Zimbabwe) worked together for a strong showing on the bike that brought them into the second transition in 5th and 6th place as they headed out onto the final 2.5km run. Freshman Nanette Nikolajsen (Esbjerg, Denmark) and Junior transfer Chloe Telian (Oakhurst, CA) both posted strong runs off the bike to round out the scoring line-up for the Bears. ....

Triathlon Zimbabwe has resolved to reschedule their flagship event, the Africa Triathlon Cup Troutbeck to September following its postponement due to the new government-imposed strict Covid lockdown measures.
On Monday, Triathlon Zimbabwe announced the postponement of the international event and all its associated multi-sport events initially pencilled in for February 20 at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga.
This was a culmination of extensive discussions with the event Local Organising Committee (LOC), medical specialists, sponsors and other stakeholders.
Earlier in the month Triathlon Zimbabwe expressed the desire to approach the SRC with the view of staging the event in spite of the obtaining Covid-19 situation in the country as preparation to host the event were already at an advanced stage. ....
