The staff and faculty at Grand County High School would like to share their GCHS December students-of-the-moth: Kaci McKinney and Diego Winn. Kaci and Diego both exhibit excellence as both students and citizens of Grand County. Kaci McKinney, a senior at GCHS, is the daughter of Jill McKinney and Cody McKinney. Kaci is very involved in her school work while additionally engaging in school sports and activities. She said that a handful of courses she has taken in high school have, in particular, caused her to grow as a student. With Kent Daltonâs woodshop class, she said that she âlearned more about how to become a better person in that class.â Kent Dalton taught at GCHS for decades and retired in 2020. ....
Restaurant openings in Rhode Island have not slowed, pandemic or not. Four brand new ones are getting ready to open in coming weeks and months. Plus new owners have bought a 20-year-old cafe and bakery that they will reopen in March. The new businesses include a downtown Providence soul food restaurant, a bistro from three friends including the executive chef at Capital Grille, a Spanish eatery from the owners of Bacaro and a Warren restaurant with a low country menu. The Village Hearth Bakery and Cafe in Jamestown has new owners, a couple who have relocated from Atlanta. Each of the four new restaurants replace ones that have closed, three in 2020. ....
