In cooperation with the Grand River Dam Authority, in the summer of 2019 USGS surveyed the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, which is locally called Grand Lake and located in northeastern Oklahoma. The survey was conducted to prepare an updated bathymetric map and surface-area and capacity table. Due to the natural changes to the reservoir, new capacity and area tables are needed periodically. Capacity and area tables identify the relation between the elevation of the water surface and the volume of water that can be impounded at each water-surface elevation. This study (1) includes high-resolution multibeam bathymetric data, and (2) describes the methods used to collect and process the bathymetric data. A mechanistic and clinical challenge is understanding and treating cancer as a disease of compromised cellular and molecular organization. Cancer onset and progression are functionally associated with aberrant genetic (DNA-encoded) and epigenetic (non DNA-encoded) mechanisms that influence the transmission and retention of regulatory information during cell division. Cancer cells must sustain their compromised genome structure (deletions, amplifications, rearrangements), epigenetic status and function otherwise cancer would be cured by cell division. Editor's Diary: Going Live In 3, 2, 1! - The People's Friend

It was a whole new experience for me.
Of course, with the country still in lockdown, the festival programme was entirely virtual.
That turned out to be a good thing. It meant people from all over the world could attend our event if they wanted. And there was no restriction on numbers, either.
On the downside, I had to become familiar with the technology required to make it all happen!
And hope and pray that my internet connection didn’t go down . . .
What could go wrong? Well, quite a lot, actually. Beforehand, my fear was that the event would be cat-bombed by one or more of my furry friends. ....
