This event will take place online on Friday, March 19 th at 7:30PM EST and aims to inform those in the greater Washington DC area of the medical research advancement within the blood cancer field, as well as share the stories of cancer survivors. RainbowYouth, a charity established in 1989 to provide support, information and advocacy for intersex, queer and gender-diverse youth and to foster safe, inclusive, accepting and diverse family environments that are drug-, smoke- and alcohol-free, has expanded its services in the region with the support of the Northland Community Foundation. We know that in Northland there are many rangatahi takatapui in need of support, Ally Wilson of RainbowYouth said.

Good causes in Barrow receive thousands from Cumbria Community Foundation

Good causes across Furness have received a major cash boost to help keep their services afloat during the pandemic. Cumbria Community Foundation awarded £12,317 at its recent Furness grants committee, with money coming from funds set up by local people and businesses including the Roselands Trust Fund, Kirkby Moor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund and the Brian and Ann Clark Fund. Six community groups have benefited from the funding, which will support running and project activity costs. One woman who has experienced domestic violence also received a grant from the Cumbria Victims Charitable Trust Fund. Barrow-based Drop Zone Youth Project provides a safe and supportive environment for young people to access services, gain new skills and have fun. It received £3,780 from the Barrow Community Trust Fund to continue offering detached youth work across Dalton.

New funds for drugs services

New funds for drugs services Published: Applications for additional support open this week. Two funds, worth £1 million each, will open this week to support grassroots, community and residential organisations to improve drugs services.   A £1 million Grassroots Fund will provide resources to third sector organisations to enable them to increase capacity and provide further reach into the community. Eligible organisations must have an annual income under £1 million and can apply for grants up to £50,000. A £1 million Improvement Fund will support service development and increases to capacity across residential and community services. It will consider applications for grants up to £100,000. The funding is part of the £5 million support package announced by the First Minister last month to ensure immediate action on addressing Scotland’s drug deaths emergency before the end of this financial year.
