Lime on Wednesday announced it is returning its scooter rental business to the Lubbock market for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lime, a California-based company that touts itself as the world’s leading provider of shared electric vehicles, this week launched a fleet of shared electric scooters in Lubbock as the city and Texas Tech campus, according to a statement from the company.
The company brought in 200 scooters, with plans to increase that number to meet demand as needed.
Lime is permitted by the City of Lubbock to launch again after a pause on shared electric scooters on Texas Tech s campus was instituted due to COVID-19, and its company leaders said they re proud to be back serving Red Raider students, faculty, staff and the entire community.
