Klang market clean-up to boost public confidence

PASAR Besar Meru in Klang, the town’s biggest wet and dry market, will be closed on selected days between July 5 and 20 to facilitate washing and disinfection works.
Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Licensing and Hawkers Department director Azhar Samsudin said disinfection works would be coordinated by the council’s wet market unit.
“Pasar Besar Meru, which has a wholesale section and daily market, must be washed and disinfected on a regular schedule as the market sees a sizeable number of customers and traders daily,” he said. ....

KEPALA BATAS: A senior citizen who had to forgo preparing bubur lambuk (rice porridge) last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic took the opportunity to continue the tradition of making the much sought-after delicacy this Ramadan.
Azhar Samsudin, 68, said just like dates, bubur lambuk was a special delicacy and a must-have for Muslims in the country during the fasting month.
“Last year, we stopped making bubur lambuk due to the pandemic.
