NHS Tayside has drawn up an action plan in response to a recent Healthcare Improvement Scotland inspection in Angus.
Inspectors made an unannounced call at Arbroath Infirmary on November 11.
Despite it being a largely positive report, inspectors did find some issues with paperwork.
They also recommended NHS Tayside adopt a more “person-centred” approach to care.
One patient had tested positive for Covid-19 during the visit, but inspectors found the safety measures in place to be adequate. ....

People across Tayside are being told not to expect medicine to be the “first port of call” when they are unwell.
Members of the NHS Tayside Board met on Thursday to discuss a new way of prescribing, with an emphasis on social prescribing and a shift away from always relying on medicines.
It is hoped the change will make prescribing safer, more effective and person-centred.

Angus health staff being told to take leave to avoid pandemic burnout

Stressed-out Angus health and care staff are being told they must take time off to protect their own wellbeing from the impact of the pandemic.
As health bosses admitted the coronavirus crisis had stretched local provision, they said they were now being “quite insistent” about ensuring staff do not put off taking holiday entitlement.
They also want to avoid any build-up of holidays amidst uncertainty over the shape of the pandemic in the months to come.
The wellbeing of staff was raised at the latest meeting of Angus integration joint board by Angus Council Julie Bell who said she had concerns over “exhaustion and burnout” among those who have been battling on the Covid-19 frontline. ....
