RAMBAN : Labour Department, Ramban has disbursed Rs.25.95 lakh as ‘Lower Education Assistance’ among 335 student beneficiaries belonging to Labour Card holders of the district.
The Labour Department has been implementing various welfare schemes launched by the Government to provide financial assistance to registered construction workers for the education of their children.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh informed that an amount of Rs 25.95 lakh was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 335 beneficiaries.
He also asked the labour card holders to get their card renewed to take benefits of beneficiary oriented schemes of the department. Related Posts

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Accounts Officer, Harvinder Singh; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh and Assistant Director, Employment, Naresh Kumar were attended the meeting.
Giving details, the Assistant Labour Commissioner said that last year an amount of Rs.2.76 crore was released in favour of approximately 7126 construction workers in four installments of Rs.1000 each. He added that following aggressive drive to register construction workers, the figure has now risen to 22,777, out of which 16,568 are active labour cardholders as of now.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the ALC to immediately get the labour card holders of the left-over construction workers renewed so that they are also be able to get the benefit of the Government schemes.

Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 9 (ANI): The farmers of Jammu and Kashmir s Kathua district feel relieved and happy to have government-run wheat procurement centres set up in their district where they sell their produce at the minimum support price of Rs 1,957 per quintal.
Speaking to ANI, Bansi Lal, a Kathua farmer said, I have been visiting these mandis to sell my wheat produce since last year. the facilities are very good. We are getting good rates. We are able to sell our produce at the MSP rate fixed by the government i.e Rs 1,957 per quintal. Outside these mandis wheat is selling at lower prices, at around Rs 1,750 per quintal.
