16568 construction workers of Ramban District to get Covid relief

May 16, 2021 Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Accounts Officer, Harvinder Singh; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh and Assistant Director, Employment, Naresh Kumar were attended the meeting. Giving details, the Assistant Labour Commissioner said that last year an amount of Rs.2.76 crore was released in favour of approximately 7126 construction workers in four installments of Rs.1000 each. He added that following aggressive drive to register construction workers, the figure has now risen to 22,777, out of which 16,568 are active labour cardholders as of now. The Deputy Commissioner directed the ALC to immediately get the labour card holders of the left-over construction workers renewed so that they are also be able to get the benefit of the Government schemes.
