View Comments DNA from part of a glove found at the site of a fatal shooting matched one of the two men accused of murder, according to a forensic chemist with the Acadiana Crime Lab. Carlos Toby and Shavis Toby each are facing one count of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Brandon Broussard on Oct. 13, 2018. The trial is ongoing, and each man s charges will be determined separately. A second-degree murder conviction carries a life sentence. Both have pleaded not guilty to all charges. The tip of a blue latex glove was found near the back of the Grossie Lane trailer after Brandon Broussard was shot to death. Earlier in the trial, an investigator said the evidence was found more than three hours after the shooting because it was outside of the initial crime scene area. ....
