More Palm Beach society news here. The friends and supporters of the Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope took their dancing shoes off the shelf and headed to the Pelican Club in Jupiter for a Dancing With The Stars -style evening. Lois Gackenheimer, Janet Levy and Gail Sermersheim were chairwomen for the inaugural Dancing The Night Away event, which was hosted by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio.  Ten amateur dancers, all of them supporters of CAHH, took local lessons from the studio to prepare for the competition and win bragging rights as the 2021 top male and female terpsichoreans.

Bastille Day pop-up event to be held in Mequon July 17 MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) While Milwaukee s traditional Bastille Days event remains canceled for 2021, a Bastille Day pop-up festival will soon be held in Mequon. The East Town Association canceled this year s Bastille Days festival in Milwaukee s Cathedral Square Park due to COVID concerns, but l’Alliance Française decided to keep the tradition alive in Mequon.  This year s pop-up will be held Saturday, July 17, from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. at the Foxtown Annex, located at 6375 W. Mequon Road.  A press release says the event will include the famous beignets and cultural tent, food and drink by Foxtown Brewing, Foxtown Heritage Meats, North Shore Boulangerie, El Taco Feliz, Tatay s, Paleteria Yayo and Pop s BBQ, and performances by Milwaukee Ballet and Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
