(@FashionMOC) RIYADH Saudi fashion designers and brands are set to commence a year-long mentorship program with support from some of the world’s leading fashion experts after the Fashion Commission announced the finalists of its inaugural Saudi 100 Brands program. With more than 1,300 brands and designers competing for a coveted place on the scheme, applications were condensed to a shortlist of some 400 candidates. Those living in the Kingdom were invited over a period of 2 weeks to attend in-person interviews at hubs located in Riyadh and Jeddah, with virtual interviews conducted for those living abroad. ....
RIYADH: The Kingdom’s Fashion Commission on Wednesday announced the finalists chosen to participate in its year-long Saudi 100 Brands program. The initiative will include training, advice and mentorship from experts in the fashion sector. The successful applicants were revealed during a ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter. They were chosen after two weeks of interviews carried out by experts in the capital and Jeddah, and online. Based on these, the initial list of 1,348 candidates was whittled down to a shortlist of 400. The program offers a one-year brand development initiative with training and mentoring, individual and group consultancy and advisory sessions, and virtual and in-person training workshops. In a series of tweets, Saudi Arabia’s governor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Prince Abdullah Bin Khalid Bin Sultan, strongly denounced the Iranian move. Prince Abdullah, who is also Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Austria and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN and international organizations in Vienna, said that Iran s bid to produce uranium metal enriched to 20 percent purity, which is not required for any peaceful purpose, is a matter of concern in terms of its real intentions. ....
