Emergency services on London Road after a crash
A main road was closed in Manchester city centre after a crash between a van and a taxi.
The A6 Downing Street/London Road was closed northbound near the Mancunian Way overpass.
Eyewitnesses reported a large emergency services presence at the scene.
Pictures taken at the scene show a number of police cars, an ambulance and fire engine responding to the crash.

Despite being set in London, the show was mostly filmed in the streets of Manchester.

A suspected DUI driver bulldozed a portion of Eureka’s distinct Cheshire Cat House on the 2300 block of Fairfield Street with a Ford pickup early this morning.

Eureka Police Department spokesperson Brittany Powell told the
Outpost that 38-year-old Joshua Hoisington of Blocksburg crashed into the home at approximately 4:25 a.m.
“Hoisington drove into the house at a high rate of speed and then attempted to flee on foot,” Powell said. “Hoisington was arrested for DUI, driving while unlicensed and hit and run.”
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Mancunian Way reopens after crashes cause city centre chaos
The A57(M) was closed westbound through the city centre with reports of crashes on both carriageways - Hyde Road in Gorton is also shut

There are reports of at least one crash on the Mancunian Way which has led to its closure westbound.
The A57(M) is closed from its junction with London Road and the Chester Road roundabout following a collision.
It has also been reported that there has been a crash on the opposite carriageway in the same area.
Delays are reported in both directions, with queues building on roads close by including Regent Road.
