World Rugby set up the internship program as part of its ambitious plan to increase the number of female coaches, and wants at least 40 per cent of all coaches at Rugby World Cup 2025 to be women.
New Zealand Rugby Head of Women’s Rugby Cate Sexton said: “Whitney has been a great contributor to rugby in New Zealand over a long period of time and she is an excellent recipient of this coaching internship.
“Rugby World Cup 2021 is going to be game changer for women’s rugby in our country and programmes such as this will ensure the legacy continues long after the tournament.” ....
