The Fenton Freedom Festival Committee had given itself a deadline of April 5 to decide if this yearâs Freedom Festival would take place to celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July.
âDisappointed, Pat Lockwood, committee chair and Meghan Grimshaw, event coordinator, sent a letter to the entire committee saying that this yearâs Freedom Festival has been canceled.
âIn the letter, Lockwood and Grimshaw explained that after several meetings and discussions with the city of Fenton and due to the safety risks associated with COVID-19, this yearâs Freedom Festival will not take place.
