PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday announced that it would investigate a recently-surfaced video showing members of the provincial assembly with mounds of cash received as purported bribe for changing loyalties in the 2018 Senate elections.
“We will get to the bottom of the [horse-trading] matter and will set up an inquiry commission for it in the due course of time,” spokesman for the government Kamran Khan Bangash told
Dawn.
He said the government would constitute an independent inquiry commission instead of a judicial commission. ....

ISLAMABAD: A parliamentary panel on Tuesday expressed concern over exaggerated and estimated billing by some power companies and called for shifting the headquarters of the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) to Islamabad from Lahore to improve its performance.
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Power, presided over by Senator Fida Mohammad Khan, discussed allocations for the power sector in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2020-21, connection of Makran with the national grid, action against Kunda system by Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) and installation of meters and non-utilisation of funds under special development goals by Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco) in last five years. ....

Senate Committee Proposes Shifting NTDC Headquarters to Islamabad
The Senate Standing Committee on Power has proposed shifting the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) headquarters from Lahore to Islamabad in order to effectively manage its affairs.
Senator Fida Mohammad Khan chaired the committee and discussed the allocations for the power sector under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2020-21, the installation of electricity meters by PESCO during the last six months, and the provision of electricity to the Makran Division.
