NADI, Fiji – Fiji Airways has set a new profit record for the first six months of 2015, reporting an operating profit before tax of $17.5m from January 1st to June 30th.
NADI, Fiji – Fiji Airways has set a new profit record for the first six months of 2015, reporting an operating profit before tax of $17.5m from January 1st to June 30th. The result constitutes a solid improvement on the national airline’s profit of $15.4m for the same period last year and is the highest six-monthly result in the company’s history.
The unaudited interim result represents the earnings of the Fiji Airways Group, legally known as Air Pacific Limited, which comprises Fiji Airways (Fiji’s National Airline), its subsidiaries Fiji Airlines Limited (trading as Fiji Link) and Pacific Call Comm Ltd, plus a 38.75 per cent stake in Richmond Limited, owners of the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island. ....

Australia lifts ban on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

Sydney, Australia, Feb 26 (efe-epa).- Australia announced Friday that it was lifting the ban on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft operating to and from the country imposed two years ago following deadly crashes involving the plane in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019 respectively, which killed 346 people.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) said that its decision comes after the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) deemed the aircraft safe to fly again.
“We have accepted the comprehensive return-to-service requirements specified by the FAA as State of Design for the 737 MAX and are confident that the aircraft are safe,” CASA’s Acting CEO and Director of Aviation Safety, Graeme Crawford said in a statement. ....
