Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama and National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman
Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says the University of the South Pacific Council needs to do a good clean up at USP and he is raising the question on why the position of Director for the Centre of Flexible Learning was not advertised externally.
Feb 18, 2021 04:11:51 PM The University of the South Pacific acting deputy vice-chancellor professor Jito Vanualailai says all recruitments are on merit in compliance with the regional institution’s policies. Vanualailai in a statement said there was no need for the director of the center of flexible learning as there were qualified people working within the university. His comments come after there were claims that the National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad had used his connections to get his wife, Dr. Rajni Chand to get promoted. He said when there was no need to recruit from outside, like any other employer in Fiji, the university has to justify its intention to recruit from abroad to the Fiji Immigration.
