Grovers Slip Past Falcons

FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Trey Hatfield led Fargo Oak Grove at the plate and on the mound as the Grovers opened their season with an 8-5 win over Enderlin/Maple Valley in high school baseball Thursday in Fargo. The Falcons scored first with three runs in the first all with two outs. Brenan Bartholomay got the scoring going when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two out. That brought in Kashden Wadeson who reached on an infield hit. Ty Combs would walk on four pitches to bring in Caden Amerman. Andrew Mickelson would drive in courtesy runner Marty Rohreck with an infield hit to make it 3-0.

Bruins Surge Past Hi-Liners

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo South used a 15-3 run in the second half to turn a two point game into a 14 point game on the way to a 73-63 win over Valley City in high school girls basketball Tuesday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center. The game was close for most of the first half. The Bruins had a 14-7 lead thanks to a 12-2 run. But the Hi-Liners would go on a 11-2 run themselves to take a 18-16 lead with 6:25 remaining in the half. But the Bruins get the final bucket in a back and forth final few minutes to lead 29-27 at the break.

Hi-Liners Fall To Grovers In Season Opener

FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo Oak Grove used an 11-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to take a 56-48 lead on the way to a 72-64 win over Valley City in high school boys basketball Monday night at the Gorder Gym at Oak Grove. After a fast paced first quarter, things slowed down a bit in the second quarter. Valley City would have a 12-4 run to end the first to lead 23-15 after the first eight minutes. But the Hi-Liners would cool off in the second quarter where the Grovers outscored Valley City 16-7 to take a 31-30 lead at the break. Connor Asche had 18 of his game high 22 points in the first half for Oak Grove.
