The Willowton Group has donated more than 1.2 million Rand to provide 5,000 PPE packs and 1,000 theatre scrub sets to NGO Gift of the Givers, to assist in the fight against COVID-19 in the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape metro was declared a hot spot when the infection rate flared up two months ago. The Eastern Cape government says the average daily infection rate has shown a strong decrease since the beginning of December. Speaking at the handover in Pietermaritzburg, Gift of the Givers CEO Dr Imtiaz Sooliman has welcomed the assistance by the Willowton Group “It is well known that the Eastern Cape and the Garden Route are the epicentre of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa.
