At least 70 shots fired at party bus in Oakland killing two teens
Two teens, ages 16 and 19, were killed Tuesday morning after a party bus they were riding in was riddled with bullets. Authorities say at least 70 rounds were fired at the bus.
OAKLAND, Calif. - What was supposed to be a celebratory event turned deadly early Tuesday morning when multiple people were shot on a party bus traveling along a highway in Oakland.
The Alameda County Coroner s Office said two victims were killed, but would not immediately identify the victims.
Police say multiple shooters with high-capacity weapons fired on party bus
OAKLAND, California (KPIX) Police in Oakland believe multiple shooters fired an estimated 70 rounds with high-capacity weapons at the party bus in a 21st birthday celebration that took a tragic, fatal turn early Tuesday on an Oakland freeway.
Oakland police said they believe multiple shooters targeted the party bus, riddling it with bullets and leaving two people dead and several others wounded early Tuesday morning.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said one shooting victim died at the scene and a second died at Highland Hospital in Oakland where other wounded passengers were taken.

This is heartbreaking news. A party bus in Oakland was riddled with 70 bullets at 12:20am Tuesday am, during a drive-by on the highway 580, killing two teens. When the party-bus pulled over off the freeway, the shooters then began shooting again into the party-bus. The driver then fled to the Eastmonte police station for help. There, police called for numerous ambulances to assist the teens injured and killed in the shooting.
The victims were on the bus to celebrate someone s 21st birthday. These victims appear to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. One of the victims killed was identified by a relative as Alayasia Thurston, 19, of Stockton. The Modesto Bee reported that the other victim who was killed was 16-year-old Zoey Hughes of Modesto.
