Tribal College Journal has announced that Mickki Garrity of Northwest Indian College (NWIC) will serve as the next blogger at TCJStudent.org. Her new bi-monthly blog, “Displaced Native,” will explore the process of decolonization and her experiences as a displaced Native woman and non-traditional student who returned to school at a tribal college. Garrity is enrolled in the Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma and lives near the shores of the Pacific Ocean in northern Oregon. She’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Native environmental science at NWIC. She enjoys spending her free time walking in the woods and “puttering in the kitchen.” Garrity is a Cobell Scholar and a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar. ....
