Barb Limbacher and Nancy Molnar The Times-Reporter ZOAR A five-member majority of Zoar Village Council has voted to evict the fire department from the fire station. The lone no vote came from Councilwoman Judy Meiser, mother of Charles R. Meiser, chief of the Zoar Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Voting in favor of eviction were council members Gayle Potelicki, Joe Potelicki, Tom Klingaman, David Irwin and Mark Gaynor. They took action at a special meeting held Friday. It was the first council meeting for Gaynor since he was chosen to fulfill the remainder of the council term held by Hans Fischer, who died March 30. Mayor Scott Gordon administered the oath of office to Gaynor. The term of office expires Dec. 31, 2023. ....
The Repository ZOAR The Zoar Volunteer Fire Department will have a drive-thru spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire station, 190 E. Fifth St. The meal includes spaghetti with two meatballs, salad, dressing, dinner rolls, cake or pie, and a beverage for $9. The four-alarm hot sauce will be available. As you drive in, your order will be taken, then brought to your car. No inside dining will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Zoar Volunteer Fire Department, a 501(c)3 non profit organization. ....
