The traffic department in an advisory said no vehicle shall be allowed in the opposite direction. “The weight-bearing capacity of installed bailey bridge is less than 40 metric ton,” reads the advisory. “LMVs will have to cross Srinagar from 12:00 pm to 03:00 pm and Zig Qazigund from 1:00 pm to 04:00 pm and no Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said. It said that only stranded heavy motor vehicles between Nashree and Banihal shall be allowed towards Srinagar. “Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW and narrowness of Bailey bridge. They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of highway,” it added. ....
