今天上午，徐州召开全市领导干部大会宣布省委有关决定，此前任徐州市市长的庄兆林就任徐州市委书记。
“瞭望君”注意到，庄兆林任职经历较为丰富，此前曾在镇江、泰州、盐城等多地任职。曾任镇江市润州区区委书记，盐城市委常委、常务副市长，泰州市委副书记、统战部部长等职。
2018年4月，庄兆林被任命为徐州市副市长、代理市长；当年8月，在徐州市第十六届人民代表大会第三次会议上，庄兆林正式当选为徐州市市长。
徐州是江苏“1+3”重点功能区战略布局中3个重要板块之一，2017年6月，国务院批复《徐州市城市总体规划》，确立徐州“淮海经济区中心城市”的地位。2017年12月，习近平总书记在十九大后首次赴地方考察调研，便来到了徐州。
