NEW DELHI: Counting of votes will be held on Sunday (May 2, 2021) for the high-stakes assembly elections held recently in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, overshadowed by the raging COVID-19 pandemic, as the BJP seeks to consolidate its hold over more states and the Congress along with its allies attempts to regain turf.
The counting of votes will begin at 8 AM and continue late into the night. As many as 1,100 counting observers will watch the process and candidates and agents will have to produce a negative COVID test report or double dose of vaccination certificate to get an entry. ....

The Assembly Elections 2021 results will finally come out today with the Election Commission set to begin counting of votes at 8 AM. The results will be updated every minute on the Election Commission of India s website - https://results.eci.gov.in. It will display the current round-wise trends and results of each constituency.
All eyes are on the West Bengal Assembly election results. The elections saw a fierce battle between the Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. While Mamata Banerjee s TMC is seeking to come to power for the third consecutive term, the BJP is projecting itself as the winner in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.  ....

As per the initial trends, Mamata Banerjee s party TMC has taken an early lead and the ruling party is ahead of the BJP in Bengal. BJP s Suvendu Adhikari is leading in the Nandigram seat with over 1500 votes against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as of now. Meanwhile, the BJP has maintained a comfortable lead over Congress in Assam as of now. The saffron party is leading on 40 seats, while Congress on 22 seats in Assam, while others in 4.
