Sadaqatul Fitr is compulsory upon all those who fasted as well as those who did not fast for some reason or the other. And the Sadaqatul Fitr can only be paid to “the poor”, who are the ones entitled to accept Zakah… In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Verily, all good praises are for Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger (Pbuh). ....
Special persons seek share in fitrana sent from abroad Peshawar May 12, 2021 KHAR: The physically challenged persons on Tuesday asked the government to provide them their due share in fitrana (Zakatul Fitr) sent by King Shah Salman of Saudi Arabia. A group of handicapped persons staged a protest outside the press club here and said that they were destitute and needy therefore the fitrana should be given to them as well so their families could also celebrate Eidul Fitr. Hazrat Wali Shah, Bakhtawar Jan, Tehsil Khan and others alleged that fitrana was being distributed among the undeserving people, which was against the religion of Islam and moral values. ....

The payment of this form of charity is enjoined on all Muslims irrespective of age or gender. Al-Bukhari and Muslim relate from Ibn ‘Umar that he said: “The Prophet, upon whom be peace, enjoined the payment of one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as Zakatul-fitr on every Muslim, young and old, male and female free and slave. The charity, which became obligatory on Muslims in the second year of the prophet s journey from Makkah to Madina was introduced to purify the giver and to help the poor and the needy. According to the Hadeeth reported by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and Ad-Daruqutny from Ibn Abbas, the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, enjoined Zakatul-fitr on the one who fasts to shield one’s self from any indecent act or speech and for the purpose of providing food for the needy. ....
