MANSEHRA: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has threatened to disconnect power connections of commercial plazas and markets if their owners didn’t install power transformers separately for their commercial properties.
“Almost all shops and offices in the commercial plazas and markets are being run through the single electric meters which is putting burden on transmission lines and grid stations, causing frequent tripping of the system,” Attaur Rehman, the Pesco sub-divisional officer, told a meeting.
The assistant commissioner and president of traders body also attended the meeting in Oghi on Saturday. Assistant Commissioner Zainab Ahmad Cheema had summoned the meeting to address the issue of the prolonged power outage in Oghi and its suburbs. ....

MANSEHRA: A senior official said on Monday the government would soon release payment to people whose land had been acquired for Manchora dam some four years ago.
Accompanied by former MNA Nawabzada Salahuddin Saeed and Assistant Commissioner Zainab Ahmad Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan visited the dam site and reviewed the work progress.
He said completion of the project would bring prosperity to the people and peasants who have settled on its downstream in Agror and Tanawal areas as hundreds and thousands of acres of barren land would be irrigated. ....

MANSEHRA: The administration on Saturday removed temporary encroachments and handcarts to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in Oghi city and its suburbs Saturday.
The employees of tehsil administration, Tehsil Municipal Administration and other departments led by the Assistant Commissioner Oghi, Zainab Ahmad Cheema, removed the encroachments and handcarts from Tauheed road and its adjoining localities.
The officials removed dozens of handcarts and other encroachments and shifted them to TMA offices.
“Our crackdown would be continued until the entire city is cleared of the encroachments and handcarts coming in the right-of-way and passers-by couldn’t move or shop freely,” Cheema told reporters following the crackdown. ....
