Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) on Thursday (Apr. 22) arrested three suspects in Kekunugolla, Kuliyapitiya on charges of attending extremist classes, Sri Lanka Police said on Friday (Apr. 23). Zaharan Hashim’s Father in Law is also among those arrested, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st. According to the Deputy Police Chief, the suspects were arrested for attending sermons propagating extremism. “Zahran Hasim, the main perpetrator of Easter Sunday bombings had conducted classes in various locations in the country. Especially, the young Muslim youths had been forced to attend the classes,” DIG Ajith Rohana noted. The three suspects aged 40, 52, and 55 will be detained and interrogated at the TID, under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act. ....
