MPC Seals Govt Offices in Zomba MPC has been complaining of losses
Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) on Thursday sealed offices of ministries of trade and education in Zomba over unpaid rentals.
MPC Acting Postmaster General, Zacheus Meke, says the bills have accumulated to K45 million.
Meke says they later reopened the offices after discussion with the tenants on how the rentals will be paid.
“It’s purely business transaction. They are in our building so we were calling for them to pay rentals.
“After discussions and negotiations, we reopened on the promise that they are going to pay us part of the money today [Friday] and we will discuss next week on when to pay the remaining money,” he said.
