GUESS WHO S BACK: The sun is starting to come out in the beltway, and House members are on their way back to Washington this week, where they have a lot of work in front of them, including Democrats’ infrastructure deal. The House returns tomorrow evening for votes, and the Senate returns at 3 p.m. today. It is going to be a busy time but we are ready to see how this all shakes out. ....

Democrats rush to Biden s defense on border surge
Democratic leaders are rallying to defend President Biden s handling of the migrant surge at the southern border, where the detention of thousands of children has threatened to spark a humanitarian crisis - and undermine Democratic promises to tackle the dilemma with more compassion than former President Trump.
The issue is a prickly one for Democrats, who spent the last four years bashing the Trump administration s approach to border arrivals, which included a particularly controversial policy of separating children from their parents to deter Central American families from making the trek. ....

Biden has imposed so many executive orders that the nation, including the media, has no time to analyze or react to most of them.

Face To Face With Brian Sanderoff

Brian Sanderoff, president of Research & Polling Inc., speaks before the House Voters and Elections Committee in 2011.
Brian Sanderoff is entitled to a well-deserved sigh of relief. Unlike many of his pollster counterparts around the country this election season, he mostly got it right and they mostly got it wrong.
For example, Joe Biden was supposed to easily win swing states like Wisconsin. One prominent national survey had him up 17 points there in late October. He eked out a 49.6% to 48.9% victory over Donald Trump after a recount.
Democrats were predicted to make double digit pickups in the U.S. House. Instead, Republicans scored surprising gains. Defeat was predicted for several Senate Republican incumbents, including Susan Collins of Maine. She won handily. ....
