Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2021: Jujutsu Kaisen Comes Out Tops Crunchyroll recently held its Fifth Annual Anime Awards, however, this year was a little bit different. Due to the pandemic, the awards were held digitally, but that didn’t stop fans from casting over 15 million global votes across 18 categories in celebration of the characters, series, and creators they love. This far surpasses the 11 million votes cast in 2020. And the ultimate winner of the night? The horror action series Jujutsu Kaisen. It is no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen took home three awards this year as the anime series was beloved worldwide. The series, based on the manga by Gege Akutami, was nominated in 10 categories and secured awards in Best Antagonist for the extremely powerful cursed spirit Ryomen Sukuna, best ending sequence for the dance-happy LOST IN PARADISE by ALI feat. AKLO, and the biggest award of the night, Anime of the Year. ....
