PUTRAJAYA: Punitive action against the contractor responsible for last month’s crane collapse on KTM Bhd’s (KTMB) electrified double-track at the Rawang station will only be determined after the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) finishes its investigations, says Anthony Loke.
KUALA LUMPUR: A lot of fine-tuning will be required to ensure that passenger journeys on the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) from Kota Baru in Kelantan to Selangor’s Gombak Integrated Transport Terminal can be completed in four hours while ensuring cargo movements can take place without fuss, say experts.
PETALING JAYA: A nine-member committee has been formed to investigate the head-on collision between two LRT trains in Kuala Lumpur.
The committee will be chaired by Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak, and assisted by deputy secretary general for policy Normah Osman (deputy chairman), land division secretary Wan Mohd Asraf Wan Salleh, legal adviser Azlin Sabtu and Air Accident Investigation Bureau chief inspector Brig-Jen Izani Ismail.
Also sitting in are Yuslizar Daud, former head of rail at the then Land Public Transport Commission, Anthony Arokianathan, maintenance support signalling engineer for Express Rail Link, Assoc Prof Dr Nor Aziati Abdul Hamid from the Industry Centre of Excellence for Railway at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, and Prof Dr Wong Shaw Voon from Universiti Putra Malaysia’s Engineering Faculty.
