It needs it. Gimenez has not played since the Indians opened this four-game series against the Mariners on Thursday. Manager Terry Francona said Gimenez has been working with hitting coaches Ty Van Burkleo and Victor Rodriguez to “simplify” his swing. What the Indians are trying to do is to separate Gimenez from his leg kick. Or at least tone it down. “It’s something the Mets put in to maybe find a little more power in there,” said Van Burkleo. “I don’t think he ever really got that comfortable with it. He tends to get over rotated with it. He’s going to go back to what he was doing before he put in the leg kick.” ....
