KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 Selangor education director Izmi Ismail issued a temporary two-day closure notice to six schools in Petaling Jaya after students caught Covid-19. According to The Star, the schools in question are SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 3, SK Dato’ Harun 1, SJK(C) Puay Chai, SMK Dato’ Harun, SJK(C) Yuk Chai and SJK(C) Damansara. ....

A parent, who only wanted to be known as Pang, said parents only received the message about the school s closure as they dropped them off at school on Wednesday (April 28) morning. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to read the message just in time, but other parents had to make another trip back to pick them up, he said. Its headmaster Chew Hock Jin said the closure will allow sanitation and screening of close contacts. During the closing period, the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) will be implemented. The date of implementation will be announced by respective class teachers via the WhatsApp group, said Chew in a statement on Monday (April 19). The school is among 19 schools that has been ordered to close temporarily by the Petaling district health office. Chew added that the date of reopening of schools will be informed by the school management as soon as it receives the latest information from the district health office.
