University of Arkansas at Little Rock March 14 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Free Presented by Lorissa Mason, UA Little Rock Choirs UA Little Rock Choirs will host a live-streamed performance celebrating Women’s Heritage Month on March 14, 2021 at 3pm. The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 18, 2020, granting women the right to vote in the United States. Now, 100 years later, we have our first woman Vice President in office. This program celebrates the inspiration, the journey, and the future of women and their role in society and politics. The program includes historically informed music performed by the UA Little Rock Women’s Chorus, poetry reading, a special musical oratory presentation featuring Dr. Linda Holzer and Dr. Yslan Hicks, and an invited speaker with commentary on notable women of the suffrage movement. ....
News No Comments The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a live-streamed performance celebrating Women’s History Month at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14. The performance, “We Sing! A Celebration of Women’s Heritage,” can be viewed via YouTube at this link. The event is presented by Dr. Lorissa Mason, director of choral activities, and the UA Little Rock Choirs in the Department of Music. “This program has been a long time coming,” Mason said. “Originally planned for fall of 2020 to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the 19th Amendment ratification granting women the right to vote, current circumstances pushed the concert back to March of 2021, equally appropriate to celebrate Women’s Heritage Month.” ....
