Three Ecole John Diefenbaker Senior School Grade 12 students have been nominated this year for the Youth Citizen Award as part of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce Awards.

Seventeen-year-old Emily Mayerhofer has been a student council member for a number of years and is known for attending all activities and events, putting forward plenty of volunteering efforts in the process.
“I’m flattered to be nominated, especially by who I was nominated by,” Mayerhofer said. “Dawn MacKay is the one who nominated me and I admire her beyond belief. She’s such a great person, and to have someone like her to think so highly of me and to think that I’ve done so much for the school and so much as a person, it gives me a lot of confidence. It was very kind of her.” ....
