From yesterday. this is the skirball fire. it s incredibility. the highway remained opened. they were worried about the getty center and getty museum, which is on the right side of the highway t. fire was on the left side of the highway. so again, this was a smaller blaze, it was only about 150 acres, it was rye right by the highway, it was extremely close getting into the highly populated area of youp town los angeles. a lot of people are asking why did this happen? didn t we have the record rains last winter? we did. this is an image from outer space. the green shows you the vegetation. we were happy to get the rain and snow last winter. we went through the five hottest months on record. everything begins to brown up. what was green is now brown. so that s the vegetation that died off. that s the fuel for these fires, some of these areas haven t ....
congressman, that s an important point about the trigger and it s one of the reasons why the trigger is such a terrible idea. because we don t know what s going to happen and if there is an economic youp downturn that is the event that would make the trigger go into effect and raise taxes at exactly the worst point to do that. right? so that totally out of congress control at that point. so as an economic matter it s a very bad idea to institute a trigger. the smarter thing to do is pass a fiscally responsible tax cut in the first place and find wasteful corporate loopholes to close in order to make sure that this thing balances out in the right way from the get-go. first thing s first, find out what s on the menu for lunch and then figure out what happens in the budget committee, i will get the popcorn. not sure what you guys are going to bring. i hope it s alcohol because you can drink it because i won t for the next month and a half. great to see you. thanks so much. great to ....

Back story he said yesterday there s only one answer when it comes to north korea. youp, i know, are a member of the foreign relations or foreign affairs committee. is he right when he says diplomacy a lost cause considering it has done little, it seems to stop the north s nuclear program? the president needs to exhaust all options before even talking about war. i served on active duty at anderson air force base in guam. there s always a series of different military exercises, much of it directed against north korea. and the u.s. has zero good military options. every scenario could go to escalation and estimates are that as many as 2.1 million people could die, 7.7 million injured, including hundreds of thousands of americans. that s why we need to focus on diplomacy and economic sanctions before looking at the dark and bloody path of war. is there anything congress can do to prevent war with north korea? i ve introduced legislation ....
Begin their annual joint military exercises next week. is there any fear this could cause the north to react in some way? sure, there s concern here, but there s also there isn t a lot of appetite for cancelling those operations, those war games. to be very clear, what they re war gaming out, three weeks of war games, the first week is crisis communications, you involve the south korean government on how they might respond, how they interface with the u.s., the next two weeks, actual war gaming for defending the second, the lower part of the korean peninsula. that s what that second part is, the last two weeks. no indication here they plan to cancel them. those have been going back to the 70s. the wrar games. the idea that the pentagon would modify its longstanding plans just because of rhetoric out of the north, doesn t seem to be the issue here. it would show they would be intimidated at the very least. hans nichols, great to see youp. ....
