The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of Chief Olanrewaju Adepoju, a Yoruba poet, writer, artiste, and religious leader. Adepoju died on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, southwest Nigeria. He was 83 years old. In a statement issued by Wole Adedoyin, the President of SYNW said the late Adepoju was born in the village of Abà Òkè Pupa in Ọ̀yọ́ State, Nigeria, in 1940.
