Woodville Elementary student Erik Jordan is this year’s state-level winner for 4th grade writing in the Young Georgia Author’s competition. His poem, “Nature’s Hymn,” was recognized as the best submission in the state in his age category.
The Board of Education recognized Jordan at their May 10 meeting, during which Superintendent Matthew Cooper presented him with a trophy, and Jordan read his poem to the board.
“He is a role model for all of Woodville’s students, not just academically, but I can say he’s a student of character as well,” said Woodville principal Lana Jones. “We expect big things from him. He will continue, I’m sure, to represent Habersham County in many ways.”
