Right now or what they call district work period, some republican members are getting an earful from angry constituents back home. here s florida republican congressman ted yoho holding a town hall last night in his district. i don t believe the federal government should have a role in providing health care for everybody. [ booing ] no. remember this guy, south carolina republican congressman joe wilson. he was the guy who yelled you lie to president obama in the middle of a joint session to congress. well, last night congressman wilson faced constituents back in his district, and here s what he well, it looked like. ....
They were inspired. they thought it was a positive speech, and i m just saying that s the crowd he spoke to. they were inspired, they said that s the man i voted for and campaigned for. i m encouraged because he s going to do everything he promised he would do. from that standpoint. and that being said, he did get a lot of criticism for those who were not in the crowd and didn t get that feeling. tonight, he has to not get angry and lash out at whatever shenanigans there are in the room, and the basic one is the way this situation is, which is half the people in the room don t stand up and clap, that s how it works. he can t let that get to him, or he ll ruin his opportunity. right, president obama had someone in the republican crowd yell you lie to him when he was delivering a speech to the joint session of congress. nothing likely to happen tonight, but this is a guy who s got to realize that he s not just speaking to his base and answering to what alice is saying. yes, he co ....
Themselves quite well last evening. nobody shouted out, you lie . well, i don t know if that should be the bar, congressman. absolutely. you re right. i get what you re saying. you have something else that came striking after the speech. the democratic response delivered by former kentucky governor steve beshear, he s in this diner, customers, they look like some of the customers that looked like they were in a hostage video. donald trump wins kentucky by 30 points. i don t think that governor beshear is the future of the democratic party. he s a retired governor. what was the thinking there? why have a guy like steve beshear give the response versus an up and comer in the party? your problem is, you re asking about thinking and that didn t happen. look, the governor did a fabulous job in terms of health care when he was in kentucky, did everything well. he left with a positive opinion ....
Candidate. a lawsuit. a lawsuit after he made those comments when he announced his presidency, disparaging remarks about mexicans. let me ask you about decorum tonight. it s tradition to stand and applaud the president. do you plan to do that? do you expect there may be a joe wilson you lie moment? this is certainly a first. i intend to respect the decorum of tonight s event. you know, this is my fifth it s not a state of the union, we re in the joint session of congress, but these things you have to just wait to see what happens. but i, myself, intend to respect the decorum of the house of representatives. i m only asking this because the word decorum has come up. you rather famously made a suggestion to then candidate trump about the wall he wants to build. you suggest that he shove that wall somewhere. ....
