New type of ancient human being found in Israel A potentially new early species of the human being has been discovered in Israel. The bones of the unknown species were found during an excavation in the quarry of a cement plant close to the city of Ramla. What has been found is a partial skull and jaw from an individual who lived around 120,000–140,000 years ago.
