Students Give Bidens Brutally Honest Assessments of Virtual Learning

During a tour of a reopened Virginia elementary school, children gave President Biden and the first lady very honest assessments about the pros and cons of virtual learning.
Telling the kids that the first lady teaches full time, Biden then asked how they liked remote learning.
“It was terrible,” one boy told the Bidens, while another said the glitches made it difficult at times but she “definitely” preferred it this way.
Other students noted that while their teacher wasn’t paying attention they could sneak in some snacks.
“If we were really tired we could take a little nap,” another said. ....

YORKTOWN, Va. It was a moment four-year-old Maverick Wise and his mom Julie won’t forget.
They knew President Joe Biden was visiting Yorktown Elementary School on Monday, so they stopped by, hoping to get a glimpse of the motorcade up close. Maverick loves motorcycles.
“We could not believe he stopped in the middle of the road and got out,” Julie said. “We were all shocked.”

After greeting a large crowd, the president walked right up to Maverick. The little patriot was wearing his older brother Thomas’s U.S. Marine cap and got his own photoshoot with the Commander-in-chief. ....

Jill Biden heard a candid admission from a young student as they visited a school in Virginia.
The first family stopped by Yorktown Elementary School on Monday one of several schools they toured as part of the president’s effort to promote his “Getting America Back on Track” infrastructure program. Speaking to a classroom full of kids, the Bidens asked the children how they felt about learning from home during the coronavirus pandemic.
The children offered a mixed response to virtual learning, but one young lady explained that she liked it because you could eat during class when the teacher was distracted. This drew a chuckle from the president and first lady, and they laughed again when another young woman said that Zoom lessons often allowed children to “take a little nap.” ....
