Free cycle training sessions relaunched in district

Sessions with qualified instructors are on offer across the district. The programme caters for all abilities, from complete beginners – who will receive tuition at off-road venues – to advanced, with one-to-one sessions for those seeking to ride with confidence in busy city environments. Bike maintenance training is also on offer. Sessions are being staged region-wide through West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s CityConnect programme, in partnership with local authorities. Anyone aged 16 and over who lives or works in West Yorkshire can take part. Bikes are available to people without their own – and social distancing and other Covid regulations will be in place.

New secure cycle storage installed on city centre street

A NEW secure cycle parking facility has been installed on North Parade in Bradford city centre. The unit is opposite Bread & Roses cafe, and has been installed thanks to West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Cityconnect scheme - set up to boost cycling in the region. It is the first such bike hanger to be installed in West Yorkshire through Cityconnect. It takes up one car parking space on the street, and has space for six bicycles. It can be used by staff and visitors to Bread & Roses, and non customers can use the facility by getting in touch with the business.
