A staggering 121 New York City hotels accounting for more than 16,000 rooms have been taken off the market and converted into shelters for migrants raising concerns that the shrinkage in available rooms is contributing to higher room rates for tourists.
Big Apple tourism is on the upswing, but still lags behind pre-pandemic levels amid concerns about crime, according to a report released Thursday by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.
