I do have a lot of surrogates speaking very beautifully. They come over from all Over Washington and theyre highly respected. Republican candidate for president of the United States is going through mental anguish in a courtroom thats very depressing, very depressing. Donald trump brings in his most loyal maga sycophants. Cos playing as trump to break the judges gag order for trump as his criminal trial heads towards a conclusion. Also tonight, two president ial debates come together very quickly today as President Biden challenged trump to two debates and trump accepted. But the debates will be a significant departure from what were used to. Good evening, everyone. Im jason johnson, in for joy reed. We begin tonight with Michael Cohen, the man who once said he would take a bullet for donald trump. Will be back on the Witness Stand tomorrow in day two of crossexamination by trumps defense team in his hush money election interference trial. The defenses goal, to try to poke enough holes
Credit for 500,000. He basically doubles the amount he can borrow against his apartment. He later uses that money, he says, to pay Stormy Daniels in october 2016. And Rudy Giuliani has told us there are several other issues that he settled for trump and that he was reimbursed for. It is possible, though we dont know how he spent the remaining amount in his increased credit line that he may have used that for some of these other issues and thats one of the things thats under investigation. Thats such a Key Line Saying mr. Cohen resolved other problems similarly for mr. Trump. How significant is that . We have Rudy Giuliani giving a variety of figures about how much money was used here, when it was used. Walk us three visavis the size of those payments. Rudy giuliani said he was getting north of 400,000 for a year of Retainer Payments and
that was to reimburse him for things he took care of. It leaves open the possibility of up to another couple hundred thousand dollars that he might hav
rock refused to create one. there is civil action he could take, the mental anguish and pain. he struggled with childhood trauma of violence. he still sees a therapist. it could be damaging to him physically, mentally. i still don t think that s going to happen. i think what he may be suggesting there is what to do about his relationship with will smith, how he perceives addressing this moving forward. he s still going to be going on comedy tour, how he addresses the situation going forward. yeah. obviously he s going to speak about that. i think he made that very clear. you both seem to be in agreement there that no charges will be pressed there. caroline, yodit, thank you to both of you. take a look at video.
sykes. these are people he works with all the time. actually, he met wanda when she was performing at my club. she was an opening act for chris years ago. but you worry about copycats? i don t know if we re that worried about copycats. but we want to make sure comedians feel safe on stage. and that behavior of even heckling at certain point is really not tolerated in my club. we try to put an end to that. we have security around always. and, you know, people are asked to leave or to be quiet or sometimes we just take them out and say you have to leave right now because you are making too much noise and you are bothering whoever is on stage. behave, children, right? okay. yodit, i wanted to ask you we just learned something from chloe melas, who went to both of chris rock s shows last night.
yodit, what about this suggestion from weinstein s attorneys there on the steps that they may have a hard time finding an impartial jury. what do we make of that claim? any truth to it? there could be some truth to it but i mean he s standing there making public statements as well so he could possibly be tainting a jury, as well. so we saw with the cosby trial not too long ago that there was a hung jury, then ultimately they retried the case and got a conviction. so i don t believe that it is impossible to find 12 fair and impartial jurors who could look at the law and the facts and make a decision. so again, these type of cases turn on credibility. we can t let this moment escape us. this has to be a permanent reminder to all sexual harassers, all sexual predators, whether you are in hollywood, capitol hill or whatever industry you are in, that you re never too powerful and you will have your day. and harvey weinstein s having his now. yodit, ann, a big thanks to both of you on
