As a teacher, one of the first things you teach your students is to raise their hands when they want to speak or ask a question during the lesson. We do this to instill respect for others, both classmates and teachers, to increase patience and teach delayed gratification, and of course, so that we can get some teaching of the subject matter accomplished too.
